Case Study
Luxury Home Refurbishment
Our client’s home had evolved over time, resulting in a fragmented mix of legacy building control systems. While lighting, heating, air conditioning and audio-visual distribution were accessible via an app-based platform, other key systems – including access control, shading and security – remained on separate, standalone controls. This created an inconsistent user experience, unnecessary complexity and a plant room filled with ageing, space-hungry equipment.
As part of a wider home refurbishment, the client asked us to completely remove and modernise the existing infrastructure, unifying every system into a single, seamless smart home platform.
The brief presented several key challenges: significantly reducing the space taken up by legacy equipment, bringing all systems up to current standards, and consolidating control into one intuitive interface. Just as importantly, the solution needed to clearly demonstrate the real benefits of a fully integrated smart home – delivering intelligent automation, simplicity and reliability – while providing easy-to-use wall controls that felt natural for both the homeowners and their guests.
Our role was to turn a complex, disjointed setup into a streamlined, future-proof smart home that was powerful behind the scenes, yet effortless to use day to day.
The Solution
We fully decommissioned the existing legacy infrastructure and controls, replacing them with a single, unified Loxone control system that now manages every aspect of the home from one intelligent platform.
The new system brings together an extensive range of integrated technologies, including over 130 mains-dimmable lighting circuits across internal and external areas, 70 switched circuits, and 36 custom-designed Touch Pure Flex keypads, complemented by 29 presence sensors throughout the property. Environmental control is fully integrated, with underfloor heating manifold control on each floor, whole-home air conditioning and ventilation, all working together through intelligent automation.
Beyond core services, the system also unifies multi-room audio, Texecom intruder alarm integration, fire alarm monitoring, access control at both the gates and front door, garage door operation, car turntable control, video distribution, swimming pool management, automated shading, CCTV, and a complete upgrade of the home’s network infrastructure.
For the client, this consolidation has transformed how the home is used day to day. All systems are now accessible through a single, clearly laid-out mobile app, with wall-mounted iPads positioned throughout the property for intuitive control and seamless intercom answering. Bespoke, laser-engraved switches in each room clearly indicate their function using custom icons, while intelligent logic running in the background ensures the home responds naturally to occupancy, time of day and user behaviour.
Behind the scenes, the basement infrastructure has been dramatically reduced, freeing up valuable space and removing unnecessary complexity. The result is a future-proof smart home that meets every original objective: simpler control, modernised technology, reduced physical footprint and a truly integrated living experience.

“Syntra transformed our home into a truly intelligent space. The automation feels effortless, discreet and beautifully executed. Every detail was considered and the result has elevated how we live day to day. We couldn’t be happier with the quality and service.”
